Mind By Design® is currently seeking a passionate behavior science professional, who is growth-oriented and interested in advancing behavior analysis techniques, to join us in an unpaid placement position. You will play a key role in working with clients with developmental disabilities, as well as acquired brain injuries resulting from motor vehicle accidents.
Responsibilities:

Assist with behavioral assessments and interventions for individuals and groups (i.e. cases of MVAs, WSIB, Slip and Fall cases, LTD, etc.) in a sound and ethical manner;

Assist with client intakes and pre-screening; participate in meetings with clients and communicate effectively;

Collaborate with team members in preparing for and contributing to initial behaviour assessment; follow up on the implementation and evaluation of behavioural strategies with interdisciplinary practitioners, as well as members of the client’s support network;

Assist with treatment plans considering evidence-based information, relevant best practice guidelines and clinical expertise under supervision;

Develop and deliver courses, workshops, presentations, coaching and programs designed for mental health topics to groups as requested;

Maintain clients’ files according to established standards, procedures and protocols;

Perform case reviews and evaluation of processes; prepare reports of relevant observations and evaluation of care to ensure continuity of quality service, communication and client documentation;

Write and review behaviour procedures and reports according to professional guidelines and best practice;

Support family members and practitioners through the provision of up-to-date clinical information; assist clients and partnering organizations by recommending utilization of existing resources.
Requirements:

Strong interpersonal skills, energetic and eager to learn along with professional drive;
-
Efficiency at MS Office and G Suite;
-
Adhere to federal, provincial and professional policies and regulations associated with Applied Behaviour Analysis;

Knowledge and skills in counselling practices and cognitive behavioural therapy;
-
Ability to plan, implement, evaluate and report activities conducted;
-
Attention to detail and demonstration of analytical decision-making and critical thinking;
-
Highly organized with excellent time management skills, including the ability to prioritize between tasks, multitask complex deadlines under pressure, and manage competing priorities;

Project an image of professionalism, integrity, tact and discretion while working with highly sensitive and confidential information;
-
Ability to establish rapport with others as a requisite for healthy and therapeutic relationships;
-
Ability to be both consistent and flexible as circumstances warrant;

Ability to remain calm and supportive in psychological emergencies or crises when provided with appropriate supervision and direction;
-
Be comfortable in collaborating and communicating within an interdisciplinary team.
Location for placement: Temporarily remote due to COVID-19. Mind By Design® is currently offering all supportive services and conducting meetings through video conferencing. Working at physical offices/clinics and home visits for service delivery may be required afterwards.

Internship terms: This is an unpaid internship. No benefits provided.
Number of hours: 37.5 hours per week to be completed Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
You may be required to work 2.5 to 5.5 more hours per week. This will depend on the active projects and tasks needing attention.
