OBSESSIVE-COMPULSIVE DISORDER (OCD)

This is another mental disorder that is an improperly used term in pop media. It is normal to have routines or habits that improve our daily functioning. However, the difference is the degree of distress it causes if it is not executed.

Individuals with OCD have routines that start to impact their life; they inhibit them from proper daily functioning. People with OCD can feel as though their impulses and behaviours are outside of their control and are somehow unnatural.
