SAD is a type of seasonal depression that typically begins in late autumn and ends around the beginning of spring. It is expected that SAD is caused by the lack of sunlight. The sufferer of SAD will show the typical effects of depression which affects their mood; the way they feel about themselves, how they relate to others, and how they interact with the rest of the world.
